Is Blind Spot Removal ™ A Good Fit For Me?

To help you decide on whether coaching with me is a good match, here are some criteria that will help:

1. Beyond beginner-level business skills:  my clients have a solid grasp of their jobs, running a business and the financial industry. If you are just starting out as an advisor, rather than coaching, you will be better served by getting the basic training you need in business, products and sales techniques. There are many free and low-cost resources available online or through your broker/dealer.

2. Financial and personal wellbeing: coaching is a learning experience that assumes you are generally accomplished, healthy and successful. If your finances and/or personal life are in crisis, you will not be in a position to benefit from coaching. Said another way, if you are on your last dime or your life is in upheaval, it would be unethical of me to coach you, even for free. If this describes your situation, please do what you need to stabilize your life, and then you will benefit from what I or any other coach has to offer.

3. Willingness to “not know”: are you willing to get out of your comfort zone, try new techniques that are unconventional, and even, consider ideas that run counter to the way you’ve always done it? If so, great! If not, then I’m not the right coach for you.

4. Willingness to let go of instant results and gratification: you will often be satisfied with your coaching progress, yet there will also be times it will take more time to cement the skills you are learning. Plateaus and even occasional set-backs are a natural part of the learning process. If you are willing to accept this idea (you don’t have to like it) then coaching will help you tremendously. If you are not OK with this reality, then you will be disappointed with coaching. The right practice makes perfect!

5. Willingness to do the coaching work: coaching is a two-way relationship, and requires that you put in the effort to benefit from it. So, if you are looking for someone to give you answers, don’t want to look at your blind-spots or change your habits – then you would be better off hiring someone to do it for you, or get a consultant to tell you how to do it yourself. While I am happy to consult with you, that is different than coaching. One thing to consider: if you have already tried consulting or hired someone who falls below your expectations, chances are you have some blind spots that are costing you time, money and satisfaction. The effort you put into coaching, on the other hand, will result in an easier, more successful life.

6. Access to telephone, internet and email: Our coaching is by phone, so you will want to have access to a private line in a quiet location. You’ll also need email and web access to receive maximum benefit from the resources I provide. If you do not have private email access, you will want to arrange for that first. The library and other resources are an option for internet access if you lack a computer.

7. Willingness to treat your financial practice like a business: that means, working at it like an owner, not an employee. While having time off when you want and working fewer hours in your business is a realistic goal, it takes time to achieve maximum income and flexibility in your schedule. Are you willing to do the work necessary for the outcomes you want? If not, then coaching won’t be a good fit at this time.

If you meet the above seven requirements, you have the foundations for a highly successful coaching experience with me. Our sample session will help us further decide whether I can help you as your coach, and I invite you to contact me for one of my coaching options.
